OIA launches opportunities platform to alleviate student and staff burdens

Picture this, you’re a Stanford student interested in gaining some international experience through a Stanford opportunity during spring or summer break. Where do you start your search?

Of course, you can go to one of the larger units on campus that offer such opportunities, such as, the Bing Overseas Studies Program (if you are an undergraduate), Stanford Global Studies or the Haas Center for Public Service, but is there more? The answer is, YES, there is much more, but how do you find these opportunities?

"GoGlobal" spotlights international research, courses, events at Stanford University

When faculty members add information on their international activities to their Stanford Profiles, that information – a journal article, course or research project – will automatically appear on the Go Global website.

Stanford has created a new website – GoGlobal – to showcase the university's international research, teaching and learning on campus and abroad, as well as events and news.

Leading global initiatives at Stanford University

Established under the auspices of the Office of the Vice Provost and Dean of Research, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) provides a centralized location for international related services to faculty and students.  We had the opportunity to meet the newly appointed director, Dr. Brendan Walsh, and to discuss how the Office serves the international related needs of the Stanford community.
