Collaborating with Nepalese visiting scholar, Kashish Das Strestha

Jerry Brown, Governor of California, read “Approaching a State Shift in Earth's Biosphere,” a publication that resulted from the culmination of a year’s work of 22 biologists from 4 countries that identified major biological problems due to human interactions with the Earth and was astonished to learn that this news was not spread beyond the community of scientists. "If these are such big problems, why aren't you scientists shouting it from the rooftops?

Leading global initiatives at Stanford University

Established under the auspices of the Office of the Vice Provost and Dean of Research, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) provides a centralized location for international related services to faculty and students.  We had the opportunity to meet the newly appointed director, Dr. Brendan Walsh, and to discuss how the Office serves the international related needs of the Stanford community.
